Your First To-Do’s

If you haven’t already, be sure to log into your Admissions Status Portal to complete some important action items. Don’t worry—you will get plenty of advance notice about anything you need to complete before your arrival. Here are a few of the most important items you can knock off your to-do list now.

Get Connected

Get started by setting up your Loyola email and access the Loyola network, known as the Single Sign On (SSO) portal. Check your email for step-by-step instructions to access your Loyola accounts, including instructions for free access to Microsoft Office 365. You’ll use your Microsoft login for access to SSO, LORA Self-Service where you will register for classes, and most other online accounts at Loyola. Find more tips on this page. Contact the IT Help Desk with any technology-related questions by calling 504.865.2255 or emailing support@loyno.edu using your Loyno email address.

Pro Tip: If you’re shopping for computers or other digital subscriptions, don’t forget to look for special discounts just for college students! Many options require a “.edu” email address, so it’s important to set up your Loyno email first.

Submit Your Housing Application by December 8, 2023

Loyola requires every student to live on campus for two academic years, or until attaining junior standing. Complete your 2023–2024 Housing Application under “Applications & Forms” in our residential management system called The Housing Director (THD), available in your SSO portal. Completing your application on time will help give us important information to plan for your arrival. Having difficulty finding the application? Follow along with this handy how-to guide that walks you through the application process.

Reach out to Residential Life directly with any questions:

Submit Your ID Photo

Log into your Admissions Status Portal and upload your headshot in the "Upload Materials" section. Be sure to select "ID Photo" from the dropdown menu. Make sure your photo clearly shows your face and has a vertical orientation. We will use your photo to make your Loyola ID, which you can pick up from LUPD when you arrive in January. Submit your photo by December 10, 2023.

Complete Your Affordability Questionnaire

Get started with financial planning now by completing the Affordability Questionnaire in your Admissions Status Portal. The information you provide will help our Student Financial Services team provide one-on-one support to connect you with the best payment options for your family. For additional support, schedule an appointment with one of our Student Account Counselors.

Connect with Your Advisor

Students in the College of Arts and Science, Nursing, and in the College of Music and Media should complete the Academic Advising and Involvement Interest Survey in the Admissions Status Portal. Once you complete your survey, it usually takes your advisor about two weeks to reach out to you with your draft schedule for further discussion. College of Business students do not need to complete the survey; your advisor will reach out to you to help you create your schedule.

Add an Emergency Contact and Complete Your Registration Agreement

You are required to add your emergency contact information and complete the registration agreement in LORA Self-Service no later than January 15, 2024. Students who fail to submit an emergency contact/registration agreement before the start of the semester may risk being dropped from their courses. Follow these steps:

  1. Log into LORA Self-Service and find the “User Options” dropdown in the menu.
  2. Select “Emergency Contacts” from the dropdown, and you’ll have the option to “Add a New Contact” or “Edit” your existing emergency contacts.
  3. To add a new emergency contact, add the person’s name, relationship, phone number(s), and address. Check the “Emergency Contact” and “Missing Person Contact” checkboxes at the bottom as appropriate.
  4. Go back to the “User Options” dropdown and select the option that says, “Required Agreements” and click on the agreement form to complete it.
