The Welcome Pack: Online Orientation (Spring 2024)
Going to college is a big (and exciting) transition, but we’re going to connect you to plenty of resources and support to prepare. One of your first tasks is to complete our online orientation, which consists of a number of video modules that cover everything from academic resources to student life and dining. It should take no more than three hours to finish, and we’ll save your progress along the way so you can take a break at any time. You must complete your online orientation modules no later than January 12, 2024, to have your orientation registration hold lifted.
Online Orientation Topics
- Safety and security in the Big Easy
- Student living and dining services
- Student health and counseling
- Loyola technology
- Introduction to academic life
- Introduction to your college
- Student life and ministry
How to Log into Your Online Modules
Go to the online orientation website and click sign in under the “For Students” header. From there, you’ll be prompted to use your username and password from your Single Sign On (SSO) portal to access the online orientation modules. We emailed your credentials in case you forgot—look for the subject line “Access Your Loyola Accounts Now!” in your inbox. If you have problems with your username or password, check this page, reach out to our Help Desk at support@loyno.edu from your Loyola email address, or call 504.865.2255.
Optional Parent/Caregiver Orientation
Your parents and caregivers are also encouraged to explore the online modules using the parent/guest access on the orientation website. They’ll find a wealth of information about campus activities, academics, and support services for students.
Krewe Chats
Did you know: You have a Krewe Leader who is a current student at Loyola dedicated to preparing you for life at Loyola! Towards the end of this month, your Krewe Leader will communicate with you weekly via text messages. Your Krewe Leader will also reach out at the start of the semester to plan a time to grab lunch with you! This will be the perfect opportunity to ask questions and get advice from a member of the Pack.
Just Ask Me Table
Be sure to stop by the One Loyola Room on the first floor of the Danna Student Center on January 16–17, 2024, to say hi to the Krewe Leaders and ask any questions that come up as you get settled at Loyola. We can also connect you with resources, and we’ll be handing out swag bags for incoming students!
New Student Resource Guide
In addition to our online orientation, we recommend that you download our New Student Resource Guide packed with information to help you get settled at Loyola. You’ll find location and contact info for offices and departments on campus, instructions for using technology at Loyola, and a rundown of essential info for academics, student life, and safety on campus.
Advising Support
Students in the College of Arts and Science, Nursing, and in the College of Music and Media should complete the Academic Advising and Involvement Interest Survey in the Admissions Status Portal. Once you complete your survey, it usually takes your advisor about two weeks to reach out to you with your draft schedule for further discussion. College of Business students do not need to complete the survey; your advisor will reach out to you to help you create your schedule.
