We believe in providing students with a truly well-rounded college experience both inside and outside of the classroom. That is why we offer more than 120 student organizations and a full calendar of special events throughout the year including concerts and celebrations on campus.
The more than 120 student organizations are wide-ranging and include academic/professional societies, social and honorary fraternities and sororities, service organizations, special interest groups, sports clubs, and media organizations. The Student Government Association (SGA) is the umbrella for these diverse organizations, while the University Programming Board (UPB), another student-run organization, provides educational, cultural, social, and recreational events for the Loyola community.
In addition, renowned speakers are brought to campus by a number of Loyola associations and funded series. Past speakers have included former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev, former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court Ruth Bader Ginsberg, environmental activist Erin Brockovich, Academy Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon, and actor/activist Danny Glover.
