Residence Halls

Biever Hall

Biever Hall is named for Fr. Albert Biever, the first President of Loyola University. It is a six-story residence hall that has the capacity to house 410 students. All rooms are double occupancy and are furnished with two closets, two chests of drawers, two single beds (bunk-able), and two movable desks. In addition all rooms in Biever have basic cable service (approx. 65 channels), local telephone service with two voicemail boxes, ethernet and wireless internet connections, and individual temperature controls. There are kitchen/study lounges on each floor. Mail boxes, laundry facilities and a television lounges are located on the first floor.

Buddig Hall

Buddig Hall was named after Henrietta Buddig as a result of a gift by her family. It is a twelve-story residence hall with a capacity of accommodating 429 undergraduate students. Buddig Hall also houses all of the Residential Learning Communities. Each suite houses four students in double rooms with a shared bath and individual heating and air-conditioning controls.  Each room is furnished with basin vanities, two single beds, two desks, two closets, a bulletin board, basic cable service, local telephone service, and ethernet/wireless internet. Study rooms, laundry facilities, mail boxes, study lounges, and a community kitchen, are also located within this residence hall.

Cabra Hall

Cabra Hall was originally owned by Dominican College. Upon the college's closing, Loyola University gained ownership of the building with the annex of the Broadway Campus. The name Cabra has roots tracing back to Ireland, to an area where the Dominican Sisters originated. It is a five-story co-ed residence hall with a capacity of accommodating 108 upperclass, graduate, and law students. This building, located on Loyola University’s Broadway campus, is four blocks (less than .25 mi.) down historic St. Charles Ave. from the main campus. Each suite houses four students, who share a bathroom, multi-purpose area, and a living room. Each bedroom is furnished with two single beds, two desks, two closets, basic cable service, local telephone service, and wireless internet. The living room is furnished with a love seat, chairs and coffee table. Therooms are centrally heated and air-conditioned. Study rooms, laundry facilities, study lounges, a computer room, a community kitchen, and a sun deck are also located within this residence hall.

Carrollton Hall

Carrollton Hall is a upperclass, 328 bed facility consisting of suites and apartments. The building was completed in 1999 and is the newest residence hall. The suites are on floors 2 through 5 and consist of bedrooms, a living room (common area) and a bathroom. There are 2 kitchens on every suite floor. The apartments are on floors 6 and 7. In addition to the suite amenities, apartments have a kitchen and consist mostly of single rooms. All rooms in Carrollton Hall come with adjustable room temperature controls, movable furniture, basic cable, local telphone service, and ethernet/wirelss internet.
