Serial Murder: Myths/Reality

The course familiarizes students with the field of serial murder. Despite an almost mythical interest in the phenomenon, relatively few scientific studies have been undertaken on the prevalence, etiology, investigation, and understanding of the crime. Biological, psychological, and sociological explanations of serial murder are examined in the course as well as key investigative techniques including psychological and geographical profiling.
