Short Bio

Ms. Melissa Lightell is the Interim Director of the Office of Professional & Continuing Studies. She is a New Orleans native and an alum of Loyola University New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in mass communication. Ms. Lightell also holds a Master of Liberal Arts from Tulane University, and she is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and the North American Association of Summer Schools (NAASS).

Ms. Lightell has been with the office since 2001. As the Director, she meets with prospective evening program students and guides them through the admissions process. She is also available to help current students with any issues they may have in regards to their courses or degree program. Graduating evening program students can meet with Ms. Lightell to discuss their degree audits and certifications.
