Alí R. Bustamante joined the Jesuit Social Research Institute in July 2014. Mr. Bustamante is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Miami specializing in political economy. Mr. Bustamante's research focuses on the social and economic effects of public policy with particular emphasis on poverty, inequality, labor relations, and economic development. Mr. Bustamante is active in economic justice organizations throughout the U.S. and Latin America. Prior to coming to JSRI, Mr. Bustamante served as a a visiting professor at the Florida International University: Center for Labor Research and Studies and as a research associate at the Research Institute on Social and Economic Policy (RISEP).
