Program Highlights

Program participants will be introduced to the Russian legal system in transition through a series of lectures, receptions, and meetings with Russian judges, lawyers, and public officials, as well as tours of trial courts, appellate courts, and government buildings. This educational experience will enhance students’ understanding and appreciation of the laws and legal system of the United States, help prepare students for international law practice, and provide valuable insights into doing business with a future large and important trading partner.

Moscow, the capital city of the former Soviet Union, is the cultural, financial, and intellectual center and political capital of the Russian Federation. It boasts a variety of governmental institutions, historical sites, theaters and museums and serves as an ideal base for trips to the countryside and other important cities of the former Soviet Union. Participants will enjoy historical and cultural sites of Moscow and may choose to participate in an optional excursion to St. Petersburg during the White Nights Festival.
