Electronic Information Service for Parents
The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid is pleased to provide an electronic information service especially for parents.
The service is called parentinfo@loyno.edu and through it the subscriber will receive email reminders of financial aid filing deadlines, billing dates, and other significant events. It will help you keep in touch with your student 's financial aid situation.
This is not an interactive service. Only our office can post messages to the list service. No student-specific data will be offered here, since every message will go to every subscriber. If you have specific questions about your student, call or email our office directly.
To subscribe (or unsubscribe) go to http://www.loyno.edu/lists/index.php?id=6
You will need the free Adobe Acrobat software to open these files. Please contact our office if you need us to mail you a traditional paper copy of these announcements.
List-Serv for Parents of Newly Admitted Students
At Loyola, we know how exciting and perhaps daunting the beginning of college can be. That's why we've created Welcome to the Loyola Family , an online guide for parents, containing information and advice to help you and your student feel more confident about the start of life at Loyola.
With information on college academics, values based learning, health and safety, how to choose the right career path, and how you as a parent can be a partner in your student's continuing education. Welcome to the Loyola Family is sure to make you feel more comfortable as your family adjusts to this exciting time.
"LORA For Parents"
LORA (Loyola's Online Records Access) is available for parents of students who have been authorized to view their son or daughter's educational and financial records .
LORAPAR provides the information most requested by parents and makes it available when the need arises - not just during “regular business hours”. You will be able to view grades, account balances, financial aid information, class schedules, and the IRS Form 1098-T which parents may need when filing their income tax.

Crime and Safety Issues
There have been many reports in the media about the issues of crime and security in New Orleans. We do want parents to understand that we do take this issue seriously and that our University Police / Department of Public Safety staff actively work with our students to help them learn how to stay safe while studying in a major metropolitan area.
We have added a dedicated page within this site for families interested in learning more about this topic
