Shawn M. Donnelley Center for NonProfit Communications
Shawn M. Donnelley gave the initial gift in 1996 to establish a computer lab for communications students working on advertising and public relations projects for nonprofit clients under direct faculty supervision. Since 1996 she has continued to underwrite much of the cost of the facility.
Donnelley graduated in 1991 from Loyola University New Orleans. She currently serves on the University's Board of Trustees. In 1994, Donnelley earned a master's degree in political communications from Emerson College where she is also on the Board of Trustees.
Ms. Donnelley has worked on various campaigns at the state and federal level. She formerly served on the board of the National Association of Business Political Action Committees, the Printing Industries of American Government Relations Committee and is a past chairman of Direct Voice the Political Action Committee of the Direct Marketing Association.
In 1997, Donnelley was named one of the 100 "Women Making a Difference in Chicago" by Today's Chicago Woman Magazine. In 2000, Oprah Winfrey's Angel Network honored Donnelley for her community involvement. Alpha Chi Omega Woman's Fraternity also recognized her as an Outstanding Young Alumnae.
Additionally, Ms. Donnelley is involved with several community organizations including: the Mental Health Association of Palm Beach County Florida, where she served as co-chairman of the organization's annual fundraiser for more than 10 years; Chicago Youth Centers, where she serves as a past-chairman of the Metropolitan Association; City Year Chicago, where she serves on the executive board; the Art Institute of Chicago, where she is the co-chairman of the annual Children's Treasure Hint; and the Goodman Theatre Board.
