The
Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars
Information Session
Tuesday, March 4

Bring your commitment to civic engagement to life through
an integrated academic and internship experience in
the nation's capital.
Come meet the staff from The Washington Center
and hear them discuss placement in thematically based
internships in areas such as political leadership, mass
communications, international business, criminal justice,
human rights, and advocacy for the arts.
Participation in the program involves the completion
of an academic course taught by faculty affiliated with
universities such as Johns Hopkins and the George Washington
University as well as participation in weekly leadership
forums with nationally and internationally recognized
leaders.
Internships are located in the Washington, D.C., area,
and housing in a fully-furnished apartment is
provided. You can earn twelve
(12) credits toward graduation, and financial
assistance is awarded.
Students from all majors are encouraged to
apply.
Sample Placements: Arena Stage, National Endowment
for the Arts, Federal Trade Commission, Lehman Brothers,
U.S. Chamber of Commerce, C-SPAN, USA Today, Public
Broadcasting System, Amnesty International, U.S. Congressional
offices, NIH, National Wildlife Federation, and the
Federal Judicial Center

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Eleven-month training program in Atlanta, which
includes Turner Entertainment's leading divisions: TBS,

Studios, and CNN.com. The selected trainees will be
assigned to one network/division for the entire eleven-month
training period.

Trainees will have the opportunity to learn about the
creative and business sides of cable entertainment.
They will get firsthand experience with marketing, public

will foster teamwork and provide a motivating atmosphere
to ensure the best possible creative environment. Send

kickoff events for two Light the Night Walks, including

- Preparing materials for kickoff events
