MOUNT CARMEL ACADEMY GYM
Coming from the West into New Orleans, continue into the city until the I-10 splits. The left leg of the split goes to Slidell, and is now I-610 East. Take I-610 East and begin watching for the Canal Blvd. exit. Take the Canal Blvd. exit and turn left under the highway and continue on Canal Blvd. heading north towards the Lake.
At the intersection of Canal Blvd and Robert E. Lee Blvd., take a left onto Robert E. Lee. Within a couple of blocks you will see Mount Carmel Academy on your left. Once you have passed beyond the school, immediately take a left hand turn onto Milne Blvd.
A word of caution -- Milne is divided by an esplanade and it is easy to become confused and end up turning onto the wrong lane of Milne. In this event, you would be face to face with traffic heading north while you are moving south. Not a happy "turn of events".
At the end of the block on the left is the entrance to the gym. Park wherever you can find an available spot. For the convenience of those making purchases, a "loading zone" will be set up immediately in front of the entrance gate, and no one will be allowed to park there.
Public exhibition of flowers begins at 1pm. But the gym is open to flower exhibitors at 8:30 am, and submissions close promptly at 11:30 am.
NO PLANTS ARE SOLD PRIOR TO THE OPENING OF THE PUBLIC EXHIBITION AT 1 PM.
However, American Hibiscus Society members from other chapters are admitted prior to the opening of the Show to the general public and are invited to preview the plants before the sale opens. All others will be asked to leave!
